Buddhist Vihara
We are making new Buddha viharas in villages. the population of these villages mostly is Shakya. They are eager to learn and practice Buddhism. People are sharing their land and some money for the construction of Buddha viharas as their contribution. In some villages, villagers are building a Buddhist temple with bamboo and grass. YBS India’s role to have meetings with the community, support the construction material, provide the Buddha’s statue, and from time to time send monks and scholars to give dhamma talks.
Looking for helping hands
The most difficult thing is to find the Buddha statue because of the high cost. There are many village viharas are under construction for one or two or three years and still not completed. Local people try to provide their contribution twice a year with little savings from the crops but it is not enough. whatever they do with full motivation and kind heart. We are requesting you please ask your community if they are interested to donate Buddha statues as the details are given down.
